Attributions & Trademarks
Last updated: 16 July 2026
This page explains, in plain English, how we refer to other companies’ brands on our Site, and it sets out the attributions for materials we use. It is a notice for your information — it does not replace our Terms of Service. The operative legal terms live there, in particular §12 (Third-Party Brands) and §13 (Intellectual Property). If anything on this page and the Terms of Service ever differ, the Terms of Service govern.
“Chiang Kong”, “we”, “our” and “us” mean Chiang Kong Services Pte. Ltd.
1. Trademarks, brands and logos
We repair luggage, bags and leather goods made by many different manufacturers, and we work with airlines and airports. To describe what we do — and to help you tell whether we can help with your item — we sometimes need to name or show those companies’ brand names, product names and logos.
All such trademarks, trade names and logos are the property of their respective owners. We do not own them and we do not claim to. We use them only to identify the brands we repair or the organisations we work with. This is known as nominative, or referential, use: naming a brand to say truthfully what our service does.
We rely on the following in the two markets we serve:
- Singapore — under the Trade Marks Act 1998, section 28(4), using a registered mark to indicate the intended purpose of goods or services (for example, that we repair a particular brand of luggage) does not infringe that mark, provided the use is in accordance with honest practices in industrial or commercial matters.
- Malaysia — the Trademarks Act 2019, section 55, provides a comparable defence for referential and descriptive use of a mark.
We use each mark truthfully and only as far as is needed to describe our service. We do not alter or restyle a logo to suggest a relationship that does not exist.
2. No affiliation or endorsement
Showing a brand’s name or logo on our Site does not mean that brand sponsors, endorses, is affiliated with, or has authorised Chiang Kong — unless we state a specific appointment or partnership in writing.
Where we do hold a genuine appointment or partnership — for example, acting as an appointed repair partner for an airport or an airline — we say so plainly, and only where it is true and current.
When we describe a maker as a brand we “repair” or “service”, we mean exactly that: we are able to service items from that maker. It is not a claim of partnership with, or endorsement by, that maker.
If you own a brand and believe we have referred to it in a way that is inaccurate or misleading, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
3. Our content and third-party materials
Our own materials — the Chiang Kong and Lumière names and logos, our product designs, text and graphics — belong to, or are licensed to, Chiang Kong, and are protected as set out in Terms of Service §13.
We build our Site with the help of open-source and licensed software, and we license some of our photography and video. We are grateful to the makers and creators behind them, and we acknowledge them here.
